THURSDAY 4 JUNE
Whale watching at 17:00
Price: ISK 9,000.00
Duration: 2,5-3,5 hours
Location: Old Harbor
Whale watching with Elding whale watching company.
Iceland provides some of the best whale watching in the world as more than 20 species have been recorded in Icelandic waters, coming here to feed on the abundant of food available to them in the summer months.
Conveniently located in Reykjavķk's old harbour, few min away from the conference venue. Few hour tour with Elding can bring you up close to whales and birds in their natural habitat all year round. The drama, joy and poetry of these beautiful whales are seen on around 95% of our tours in the summer and 80% in the winter. The whale watching tours are wildlife excursions and therefore each tour is unique. Tourists delight in the sightings of minke and humpback whales, white-beaked dolphins, harbour porpoises and various sea birds such as puffins, gannets, guillemots, gulls, kittiwakes, arctic terns and many more depending on the season. The whales often surface within a few meters from the boats due to the strict observation of IceWhale's codes of conduct for responsible whale watching. To ensure that the animals are not disturbed by our presence, Elding sail at a constant speed towards their habitat. This also is part of Elding sustainability policy as Elding try to minimize oil use and pollution.
Safety and comfort are always top priority. During the tour expert guides inform and educate passengers about safety precautions, surroundings and the wildlife on the bay. All of the boats are equipped with restrooms, onboard café and safety equipment. During the tour passengers can enjoy light refreshments, sit down in indoor saloon or enjoy the view on great viewing platforms. A mini-wildlife library is open during the tour and the younger generation is encouraged to express their artistic view of the wild life on the bay. To make the trip even more comfortable we provide warm, floatable overalls, raincoats and/or blankets for our passengers during the tour.

Duration: 4-5 hours
Locaton: Pick-up at Hilton Reykjavik Nordica hotel (venue site) at 13:40
On this day tour we start by visiting the Lava Tube Cave Leišarendi, a perfect example of a cave that gives a relatively easy access to the inside of the lava in its pristine and natural form (meaning no man made paths, handrails or floodlights) and we therefore enter the cave equipped with helmets, headlights and gloves as we will walk through some uneven ground and even crawl at some places (depending on the route chosen) to fully explore this marvel of nature.
Our next stop is Seltśn, a high temperature geothermal site filled with steamy hot springs, fumarols and bubbling mud pits. We will walk through the area protected by a wooden path giving us the best view and photo opportunities of the site's display of brightly colored yellow, red and green patterns.

This popular excursion introduces you to some of the best known historical sites and natural phenomena in Iceland. We start by visiting Nesjavellir, a high temperature geothermal area in the scenic landscape of Lake Žingvallavatn. From there we go to the Žingvellir National Park, where the Icelandic parliament Alžingi was founded in the year 930 AD. Žingvellir is geologically remarkable and the tectonic plate boundaries form a breathtaking scenery. We continue to the beautiful Gullfoss waterfall, where we can walk so close to the edge that we might feel the mist of the glacial water on our faces. Our lunchbreak is usually at the Gullfoss Cafe. Sometimes we also stop for lunch at the Information Center at the geothermal area around Geysir. From there we journey towards the geothermal area around the incredible spouting hot springs of Geysir and Strokkur. We proceed to Skįlholt church, the ancient seat of the Icelandic bishops. A short stop at the Geothermal Powerplant, Hellisheidavirkjun, before returning to Reykjavik.
